In order to address the urgent need of improvement to the local traffic situation, a roadway is being proposed between the new cruise port area and the northern end of the Carenage at Tout Bagay. Zublin has already realised a part of this road in the new cruise port area.
The new connection will also provide for a wider Carenage at its west side, a boulevard type pedestrian walkway, parking and enhanced access to the new hospital, public lighting and storm water drainage, and hurricane- proof shore protection. The widening of the Carenage provides for better facilitation of small commercial shipping traffic.
No electrical and communication facilities are provided, but these services may be arranged for by Grenlec and Cable & Wireless. In the interest of full disclosure, Zublin must point out however, however, that a great disadvantage with this particular Lot will be increased traffic along the Carenage.
