ZUBLIN MEETS WITH WORLD BANK EXECUTIVES
|
St. George, November 22 --- In response to an invitation from the International Finance Corporation and a team of World Bank executives, Chief Executive Officer of Zublin Grenada Limited, Dick Van Dyke, has met with representatives of these institutions to discuss the St. George’s Revitalization Project. The meetings took place over the last week on Grenada during the visit of the World Bank executives and experts, and Zublin was pleased to learn of the interest expressed in the project.
The IFC investors, representing the private equity arm of the World Bank, have invited Zublin to make proposals to them with regards to investment in this venture which is estimated to cost in the neighbourhood of US$600 million over the next ten years; and have confirmed --- in principle --- that they have the instruments to meet the very specific financing needs which such a long-term project demands.
Zublin has also welcomed the suggestion that a sewage treatment plant be installed at the semi-industrial site which is proposed for development adjacent to the new port.
The St. George’s Revitalization Project was announced almost a year ago, and will proceed immediately upon receipt of government’s approval for the development of the marina village at the Islander/Lagoon sites.
